The Cradle of Humankind, a UNESCO World Heritage site in South Africa, is one of the world’s most significant paleoanthropological sites. Covering 47,000 hectares, it houses a complex of limestone caves, including the famous Sterkfontein Caves, where numerous hominid fossils have been discovered. These findings, some dating back over 3 million years, provide crucial insights into human evolution. The site is renowned for yielding fossils of early human ancestors.
We are looking forward to welcoming delegates to the World Anthropologic Union Congress 2024 to The Cradle of Humankind.
